Berry Ring organise several trips each year, below are the confirmed trips for the current year. More trips will be added once confirmed.
Berry Ring are offering two trips to the Far East in 2009.
The first trip (dates to be confirmed) is designed to allow the selection and purchase of a complete cross section of fish and inverts. There is the oportunity to select batches of small koi or hand select larger specimens in Thailand (from a KHV free certified farm). We eill offer a chance in Penang to select Nura Discus directly from the breeder. Also there will be a good selection of tropical freshwater fish available from a selection of farms in Singapore and Thailand, and Marine fish and inverts can be picked from Sunbeam Aquarium in Singapore.
The itinerary will run as follows:
Day 1 - leave UK from Manchester Airport
Day 2 - Arrive in Singapore, check into hotel and spend rest of day at Sunbeam Aquarium.
Day 3 - Visit South Island Aquarium and have some free time. Fly to Penang early evening.
Day 4 - Penang, visit the Nura discuc breeders.
Day 5 - Easy day in Penang, lots of sights to see (or more fish if you rather!) Fly to Bangkok late afternoon.
Day 6 - Visit Thai Koi farms to buy or simply look around
Day 7 - Choice of visiting tropical exporter or free time. Leave Bangkok for UK in the evening
Day 8 - Arrive back in UK at 06:20am
The second trip is designed to “Kick Start” the tropical season and takes place in August between Thursday 20th and Friday 28th. It allows customers to purchase tropical and marine fish from
Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia and discus from Nura Discus in Penang. It will encompass a good balance of breeders and exporters.
The itinerary will run as follows:
Day 1 (20th Aug) - Leave Uk from Manchester Airport
Day 2 (21st Aug) - Arrive in Bangkok
Day 3 (22nd Aug) - Thailand, Visit tropical /
marine exporter. Fly to Penang in the evening.
Day 4 (23rd Aug) - Penang, visit the Nura discus breeders
Day 5 (24th Aug) - Easy day in Penang, lots of sights to see (or more fish if you rather!) Fly to Kuala Lumpur early evening.
Day 6 (25th Aug) - Visit Aquatics
International—Tropical, Marine and Coldwater.
Day 7 (26th Aug) - Fly to Singapore late
morning. Free afternoon
Day 8 (27th Aug) -Visit Sunbeam and South
Island Aquariums. Chance to select tropical fish, marines and inverts/corals, leave for UK in evening.
Day 9 (28th Aug) - Arrive in UK at 06.20 am

In 2010 Berry Ring are supporting the Aquamazon 2010 show in Brazil (Belem). There is the oportunity to go on the Project Piaba field trip to Barcelos on the Rio Negro which also takes in the festival of fishes at Barcelos. We are not offering this as a buying trip, although you can visit Turkys Aquarium in Manaus and select fish there. It is offered as an experience, we can provide help with flight bookings and hotels if needed and general information. The actual trip needs to be booked with Project Piaba - Just give us a call for more details and look forward to the trip of a lifetime.
